Malfy's Law

The struggle is real, lately. So much so that I'm taking Murphy's Law and slapping my name on it instead, because I think it's more fitting.

It's been nearly two months and the old house still hasn't sold, even after substantially dropping the listing price twice. Paying the mortgage and utilities is not something I want to keep doing, but I don't have a choice there.

One of our cats, Nixon, had a multiple month recurring toes infection – to the point that our new and old vet agreed that it was best to amputate it. He's been handling about as well as you could expect, but being a helicopter cat dad has left me exhausted.

The autumn time, as much as I love it, is also my head's nemesis. I suffer from sinus headaches, so the shifting everything in autumn ruins my sinuses and leaves me with three-day-long headaches about once a week lately. I did manage to secure a family doctor after being on the wait list for over three years, but now I have to go through all the typical new doctor process before we can try to come up with a plan for the headaches.

My lower left back and right knee have both developed into long-term injuries and prevent me from even attempting to be active in the ways that I would like to.

Stream numbers have been dwindling, for both known and unknown reasons. This also isn't anything new, but it's always on my mind and doesn't help when dealing with all these other issues.

The stupid large coil burner on the stove in the new house is busted. I hate coil stoves to begin with and a partially busted one is salt on the wound. The kitchen itself is large, but it's 80% empty space with little usable counter space. The plan was to get a new stove and kitchen island once the old house sold but...

There's also family and personal stuff that I won't share. And of course, there's a lot of trivial things that don't matter much, but when everything else is going wrong, the seem to hurt much more than they have any right to.

I'm just so tired and want a break.
